Remembering the Cardinal Hume Centre and its work in your will is a wonderful way to leave an enduring legacy. Your generous gift will help ensure a brighter future for homeless and socially excluded young people and families for many years to come.
To assist any of our supporters who are thinking of making a will, the Centre has recently produced a Will Making Guide.
To request a free copy of our Will Making Guide, or to discuss with us how to remember the Centre in your will, please contact us by phoning 020 7222 1602, or by emailing fundraising@cardinalhumecentre.org.uk.
Making a will often seems like something we can put off until tomorrow. However, it is your will which ensures that your money, property and belongings are allocated how you want them to be. Without a will, your estate may not be distributed as you had desired resulting in your family, friends and chosen charities not benefiting from your generosity.
Leaving a legacy to the Centre may also help reduce the burden of Inheritance Tax on your estate. Based on the value of an individual's estate, it may be subject to inheritance tax, which is currently set at 40%. The current threshold for is £300,000, which means that for any estate worth more than that, the difference will be subject to inheritance tax. All legacies left to UK registered charities are exempt from inheritance tax, so leaving a legacy is a great way of maximising the value of your estate while helping to continue the work of the Centre.
