Daniel was introduced to the Centre after finishing a 4-month prison sentence in Wandsworth jail. He had left the army six months previously and had found the transition to ‘civvy street’ very difficult. He started getting into to trouble with the police and found himself in jail.
“At least being in prison meant I would be warm and have a bed’
The Centre provided Daniel with the stability he needed to start to build up his self-esteem and to feel more confident about his life’s chances.
‘Being able to shower every morning and make myself look presentable was a huge step forward’
Only a few months later, Daniel had managed to get a job as a barman, rising to manager very quickly given his skills and attitude to work. He then moved to Scotland and started his own company restoring granite buildings in and around Aberdeen. That was three years ago and Daniel is now happily married with one son and a baby on the way.
‘I would like to thank everyone at The Centre for their support when I needed it. I had lost my way and you all helped me find it again.’
