RECRUITING NOW!

IT Coaches - work one to one with one of our clients helping with basic IT including: Microsoft packages, email, internet searches and support completing forms. If you have good IT skills and the patience to teach beginners, this could be for you.

Homework & Study Club - do you have some teaching experience, either in your personal life or as a volunteer or professional?  Or a subject specialism?  We are seeking people to support our children and young people with their school work and course topics.

Advice & Assessment Welcome Desk -  we need a small team of volunteers to be the welcoming face for clients arriving for advice and support, to access services or find an appropriate alternative source of help and advice.  Do you have a friendly approach and good customer service skills?

Charity Shop Assistants - we are looking for a few more helpers in our bright friendly shop on Horesferry Road. Hours are flexible.

Our staff, volunteers and nine different services are all on one site in Pimlico, so you get to meet and can work alongside a lot of different, amazing people!  Whether you want to teach, gain experience with children, fundraise in our charity shop or gain experience in employment support, immigration or housing – there’s a lot to choose from!

"I have been at the Centre for two years and I absolutely love working here. I get to meet so many inspiring people, who against all the odds, manage to turn their lives around - it's incredible!"
- Centre Volunteer

Because we are all together on one site, we create a very purposeful, energetic place, all working together to make a difference.  Most volunteers come into the Centre each week, some doing 1 or 2 hours, others staying for the day.  Whichever role you choose, you become a part of a team, and everyone has a supervisor who supports them.

Every volunteer role is based on a need within a team and has a role description that has been carefully thought out.  Therefore every volunteer is needed and valued.

You need to register and then find a role and apply.  If suitable, we will contact you to arrange a meeting.  If approved, we obtain references (let us know if this is difficult for you), we do a criminal records check if the role requires it and you do some e-learning, and then you can begin!  It usually takes 2 – 3 weeks.  When you start, you have an induction with a Volunteer Coordinator and your supervisor helps you settle in.

Below is a list of our roles.  We may not be recruiting for all of them right now, but you can register with us by clicking on the link at the top of this page, tell us what you are interested in, and we will get in touch with you when we are.

And we are happy to help! Email our Volunteering Team at volunteering@cardinalhumecentre.org.uk and we will get back to you.  To learn more about our work, visit our web site here
