Books and Baking at Sainsbury’s Pimlico.

When the Centre was voted Sainsbury’s Pimlico Charity of the Year in  2012 we were delighted and knew it was the beginning of a brilliant new partnership.

After customers of the store voted for the Centre to be Charity of the year, staff and customers have been working flat out to support the work of the Centre.

In December Sainsbury’s launched the ‘Bin your Books’ appeal asking customers to donate any unwanted books. Over 150 books were donated raising almost £300 when they were sold on in the Centre’s charity shop on Horseferry Road. Customers then raised £800 from donating their change in the lead up to Christmas.

Just last week staff  baked a selection of delicious cakes and cookies to be sold to customers and raised over £125 for the work of the Centre.

I know there is much more planned from the store and we look forward to the egg hunt they have planned for the children at Easter…

Thanks to all the staff and customers at Sainsbury’s Pimlico!
