The Etcetera choir’s free concert, which raises money for the Centre, is already proving very popular, with 300 tickets reserved so far. Book while you still can!
Accompanied by an orchestral consort and selected soloists, the choir will be performing some glorious baroque choral music by three of the great Venetian composers – Vivaldi (Gloria RV589), Monteverdi (Beatus Vir) and Lotti (Crucifixus à 8).
The lunchtime concert will be held at St John’s Smith Square on April 15th, with a charity collection at the end, some of which will go towards the work of the Cardinal Hume Centre.
There is no admission fee, but tickets are going like hot cakes! To book yours before it’s too late, go to www.sjss.org.uk or call 020 7222 1061.
Etcetera was founded in 2009 as a Civil Service lunchtime choir and in recent years they have rehearsed in the Sacred Heart Chapel, attached to the Centre. The choir regularly gives free concerts, raising money for local charities, including almost £4,000 for the Centre over the years.
Having seen them hard at work in rehearsals over the past few weeks, we are really looking forward to hearing the finished product on April 15th!
