All week we have been celebrating our wonderful volunteers as part of national Volunteers Week. The highlight of the week was welcoming all of our volunteers to a sunny BBQ.
Over 100 volunteers help us provide our many services, we simply couldn’t function without them. This includes 50 one-to-one coaches, teaching IT, reading, numeracy and English language. Volunteers also help staff the jobs clubs, charity shop and the Gateway advice and assessment service, as well as working with fundraising and the volunteer coordinators themselves.
Overall the Centre has benefited from an average of 290 volunteering hours per week of invaluable and professional expertise.
Lots of sausages, tasty chicken and some fruity Pimms doesn’t come close to expressing how grateful we are to them all, but it’s a very good start.
The Centre relies on over 100 volunteers to provide many services to a wide variety of people. Go to the volunteering pages to see our current opportunities.
