Each Easter the Centre runs a fun filled two weeks of activities for low income families, it provides a safe and engaging place for children to help them build their confidence, improve social skills and generally have lots of fun.
Parents say of the holiday programme:
“It’s a very welcoming place. The staff and the other parents, it all feels like a big family.”
“Here they feel very safe. It’s a great space and a really nice environment.”
In the second week of the programme Intuit UK volunteered for over 70 hours to help us deliver craft workshops, organised games, team activities and drama sessions.
It is not the first time Intuit UK have supported the Centre, last summer a team of volunteers organised and a t-shirt design workshop for kids and parents and at Christmas Intuit UK staff donated presents for some of the most vulnerable people that the Centre work with.
Harjot Dhillon from Intuit UK explains why they chose to support the Centre:
“The Intuit We Care and Give Back programme supports employee efforts to give back to their communities. It has been great working with the Cardinal Hume Centre as it has given Intuit staff the opportunity to really engage with the Centre’s work whether it be through visits to the Centre, volunteering days with the families or donating a present for the kids at Christmas.”
Companies and volunteer support is so important in helping the Centre reach the people that need us most. A massive thanks to Intuit UK for their involvement and we look forward to more opportunities to work with them.
