These are such strange times and we are seeing a huge increase in demand. People who had jobs are now uncertain if they will still have one tomorrow. Families are coming to terms with losing their income and the worry of how to pay the bills. We are here to help them.
The Cardinal Hume Centre enables people to gain the skills they need to overcome poverty and homelessness. We work with homeless young people, badly housed families and others in need.
We take the ethos of our founder seriously, ensuring that we offer both a non-judgemental welcome and a stable and safe environment for people in need to seek help and support. Everyone who comes to the Centre is treated as an individual and much of our work is done on a one-to-one basis.
"By singling out the poor, the captives, the broken hearted, the oppressed, Christ was laying particular stress on a special characteristic of his ministry, namely the special concern for what today we call the ‘marginalised’."
Cardinal Basil Hume OSB
