When the Cardinal Hume Centre was selected as Grosvenor’s charity partner in April 2014 to say we were elated is an understatement. We couldn’t wait to see what would happen with this partnership and we have not been disappointed.

The team at Grosvenor have gone above and beyond our expectations with their commitment to volunteering, supporting clients and fundraising…

Over the last year over 50 Grosvenor staff have volunteered at the Centre – running craft sessions for kids, decorated the Centre for Christmas and helped at the client Christmas parties.

Most recently a team from Grosvenor gave a much needed makeover to the hostel games room, painting it in preparation for its grand re-opening. It is now a welcoming space where residents can come to relax and socialise.

It hasn’t stopped there. Staff have given Centre staff pro bono advice and invited clients to help at their events, including Summer in the Square.

The fundraising efforts at Grosvenor have been overwhelming, so far they have raised a fantastic £70k. From a world cup challenge to Christmas raffle, to crazy shirt days and a sports and social – all staff have got involved!

The most recent event on 12th June saw 25 teams competing for victory at the annual Grosvenor Dragon Boat race in Marlow. The sun shone as Grosvenor staff, suppliers and contractors vied to rule the water and raised an amazing £13,000.

We can’t thank Grosvenor enough for all their support and look forward to seeing what the next year will bring. Their support allows us to help people like Georgina. Georgina was in foster care from the age of 4, she has found independence and support at the Centre – please watch this short video of her story.
