Cardinal Hume Centre unveils £1 million redevelopment plans at special exhibition

New plans for a £1m redevelopment of the Cardinal Hume Centre are being unveiled today at a special exhibition in the heart of Westminster.

Open to all the people that the Centre supports, the exhibition – taking place at the charity’s premises on Horseferry Road – showcases architect’s plans to improve the Centre, along with artist’s impressions. Clients will also be invited to give their feedback on how to enhance the newly designed Centre, internally and externally.

The improvement works, expected to begin in late Spring 2018, aim to create a more welcome, accessible, modern and flexible space. They include: new facilities for the Centre’s welcome and assessment staff, housing, welfare rights and immigration teams; better training facilities; and an attractive and welcoming new family and young people’s area – all to benefit people in need in the local community.

Cathy Corcoran, Chief Executive of the Cardinal Hume Centre, said: “This is a really exciting time in the Cardinal Hume Centre’s history. Our planned changes are all part of our mission to help people gain the skills and access the support they need to overcome poverty and homelessness. We’re all really looking forward to showing our plans and artists’ impressions to our clients, and to hearing their views on how we can enhance the final look, feel and function of the Centre.”

The special exhibition will take place from 27 November to 1 December at the Cardinal Hume Centre in Westminster. To view our plans and artists’ impressions, please click here
