Welfare benefits advice

We offer specialist advice, casework and representation in welfare benefits.

Are you struggling to manage on a low income?

Through the Cardinal Hume Centre you can access:

  • Advice about which benefits you can claim.
  • Help to complete benefits forms.
  • Help to resolve benefits problems, for example, if your benefits have stopped or you think you are being paid the wrong amount.

Housing advice

Our expert team may be able to help you with your housing problems.

Are you living in unsuitable or insecure accommodation or are you worried about losing your home?

If you are living in Westminster and you have an issue with your accommodation, please contact the Centre for confidential housing advice. We’ll listen to your concerns and do our best to help you.

We provide advice on a variety of housing issues, including:

  • Homelessness applications and reviews.
  • Eviction / Possession Cases.
  • Housing options for those in unsuitable or insecure accommodation.
  • Ensuring correct priority on housing waiting lists.
  • Rights following relationship breakdown or domestic abuse.
  • Resolving rent arrears.
  • Challenging negative decisions from Social Services
  • Dealing with complex or persistent repair issues.
