Robert Arnott Appointed Chair at Cardinal Hume Centre

The Cardinal Hume Centre is pleased to announce the new Chair of its Board of Trustees, Dr Robert Arnott, who has been a trustee of the Centre since November 2013.The Centre, founded by Cardinal Basil Hume almost thirty years ago, works with homeless young people, families in need and many others to gain the skills they need to overcome poverty and homelessness. Based in Westminster, the Centre is a stone's throw from the Home Office where Dr Arnott works as a senior civil servant.

Speaking of his new role, Dr Arnott says, I was delighted to be appointed chair of the Cardinal Hume Centre, particularly as it looks towards its 30th anniversary in 2016. The Centre can be proud of pioneering an individualised approach, where clients draw successfully on tailored support. I am looking forward to that developing over the coming years, to help local people achieve fulfilling lives, whilst also extending the Centre's reach to offer insights and inspiration for national policy-making.

Cathy Corcoran OBE, CEO of the Centre, welcomes the appointment, "We are really lucky to have attracted someone of Robert's calibre and skill set to steer us through some turbulent waters as more and more people are finding it impossible to make ends meet. Robert's experience of shaping and influencing policy at the highest level is going to be invaluable to the Centre, especially going forward into our next decade of service to some of the most vulnerable people in London."
