The Earth Beneath My Feet

The Cardinal Hume Centre has been supporting people out of poverty and homelessness since 1986. Our approach is to build a relationship with each individual, to recognise everyone is different and often face complex and interrelated challenges.
We proudly stick to the ethos of our founder, Cardinal Basil Hume. We provide a place of welcome, sanctuary and support to everyone who comes to the Centre.

In 1997, Andrew walked 7,000 miles across Europe, raising funds and awareness for both The Passage and the Cardinal Hume Centre, described in his book ‘The Earth Beneath My Feet’.

In any year we support more than 1,500 people with critical practical advice and support, our foodbank, access to our family area, and our hostel for young people. Thank you for your donation, supporting people escaping homelessness.

Support that works

Going to university makes me feel like I am doing something with my life. It makes me proud to think that I am making my family proud.
