Equity, diversity and inclusion
We believe each person has equal value. This belief shapes how we work every day. We treat our staff, volunteers, clients and residents with dignity and respect, recognising their strengths and supporting them to reach their potential.
Equality means everyone has the same opportunity to reach their potential, free from discrimination.

- Equity means recognising that some people face greater barriers and taking action to address this so opportunities are fair for everyone.
- Diversity means valuing the different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives within our community
- Inclusion means people feel able to be themselves and know their contribution matters
We know that many of the people we work alongside do not experience these in their daily lives. As a service provider and an employer, we work to address inequality and disadvantage, guided by our values.
We see the impact of discrimination in many areas of life. People from marginalised communities face barriers in housing, education, employment, health and the justice system. We also know that LGBTQ+ people and people with disabilities can face additional challenges in accessing support.
Our services are designed to be flexible, so we can respond to each person’s situation. We continue to listen, learn and adapt our work, removing barriers so people can access the support they need and build a more certain future.
We are also actively working to strengthen diversity across the organisation, including at board level, where we know more needs to be done.
