Partner with us through trusts and foundations funding
The Cardinal Hume Centre supports young people, children and families facing homelessness and poverty in Westminster. Through accredited advice, practical support and long-term relationships, we help people stabilise housing, strengthen financial security and build more secure futures.
Funding from trusts and foundations is essential to sustaining this work and responding to emerging needs. Your partnership with us helps address the root causes of homelessness and poverty, with clear outcomes in housing stability, financial security and long-term wellbeing.

Our work
Each year the Cardinal Hume Centre supports young people and families across a range of services, including:
- Family services and activities for children
- Housing and welfare benefits advice
- Employment and learning support
- Immigration advice
- Supported accommodation for young adults
By bringing these services together under one roof, we are able to respond to the complex challenges many families face, rather than focusing on just one issue.
Why this work matters
Westminster has some of the highest levels of housing insecurity in the country. There are more than 3800 children living in temporary accommodation in this borough alone.
Many of the people we work with are navigating multiple challenges at once, including insecure housing, low income, immigration issues and barriers to employment.
Our unique wraparound approach focuses on:
- Early advice to prevent crises
- Practical help to stabilise difficult situations
- Long-term support that enables lasting change

How trusts and foundations support our work
Trusts and foundations help us deliver and develop our services in a number of ways, including:
- Funding advice, support services and crisis support
- Enabling after school support, play activities, food provision, fun educational weekend and holiday activities for children and families living in overcrowded and unsuitable accommodation
- Providing wellbeing support for young adults rebuilding their lives
- Providing unrestricted funding, giving us the flexibility to cover essential running costs and direct support where it’s needed most
- Committing to multi-year funding allowing us to plan for future years with confidence
What our partners have helped us do
Together with trusts and foundations, we deliver support that responds to real needs in the community.
From immediate help to longer-term change, these partnerships make a tangible difference to people’s lives, including:
- Providing walk‑in counselling for young homeless people living in our supported accommodation
- Organising fun school holiday trips and healthy lunches for children living in temporary accommodation
- Opening up our kitchen to homeless parents to cook for their families
- Sending expert outreach support to families living in hotel accommodation
- Helping families access housing advice enabling them to stay in their homes, solve disrepair issues, or secure accommodation to meet their immediate needs
